Ruth Roman was born on June 22, 1939 on June 22, 1939 in Lynn Massachusetts. She is the youngest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. When her father passed away as a carnival barker, when Ruth was just an infant and she was forced to keep the family going by working as a cleaner and a server. Ruth was raised in the poorest neighborhood in Boston Massachusetts where she attended high school. After only two school years, Ruth left to pursue an acting profession. Her path to success turned out be filled with challenges such as In New York, she obtained an opportunity to pose for stills for a crime magazine However, the stage was not a match for her. When she was employed as a hat-check woman in a nightclub she quit her job and moved back to Boston. She was an usherette during the early morning hours and also performed at the New England Repertory Company by the evening. This was her first permanent acting gig. The study of drama helped her to graduate in the Bishop-Lee Theatre School.
