Ruth Roman was born on June 22, 1939 at Lynn Massachusetts. Ruth Roman is the youngest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. Her father was a carnival barker, died as a young girl, requiring her mother to provide for the family by being an attendant and a cleaner. Ruth was raised in a poor area of Boston Massachusetts where she attended school. But she only stayed in school for a couple of years, then taking a break to pursue her acting career. The path she chose to take turned out to be filled with challenges: In New York, she obtained a job posing for stills in a magazine for crime However, the stage was not a match for her. After a brief time as a club hat girl after which she decided to come back home and quit her job. The New England Repertory Company was her first gig as a steady actor. She earned money by working during the day in the ushering department. She has also completed her studies at Bishop-Lee Theatre School, where she was a drama student.
